Dr. Ahmad Tamer
Professor Tamer became the director of Tripoli Port in 2008 after his 8 years position as head of seafarers and maritime licensing section at the Directorate of Land and Maritime Transport in Lebanon. He received his bachelor degree in political and administration sciences from the Lebanese University in 1993, and acquired his Master’s degree in maritime transport technology – fleet operations and maritime safety from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport in Egypt in 2005.
In 2013, he received his Doctorate Degree in international Transport and logistics from the same Academy. Professor Tamer is also a postgraduate (2000) in the preparation department at Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in Lebanon, as well as a postgraduate in the training department at ENA (2007).
Later in 2020, Dr. Tamer was appointed the acting Director General of Land and Maritime Transport – Lebanon.
His works include: Amman Conference and its economic and social impacts on the Arab countries (1996); Constitutional Guarantees of public liberties in Lebanon (1999); the impact of international conventions of training and shifts standards on the Lebanese maritime workforce (2005); Future perspective of the maritime ports and foreign issues impacting Tripoli Port: opportunities and challenges (2017).
